Greyfriars Bobby was a Skye terrier who is well known as a lengend in Edinburgh. there is a fountain and statue dedicated to him there. He was a dog who lived from 1858 to 1872. He mourned his masters death and kept vigil at his master's  grave site for 14 years.

Here is a neat story about a stray poodle who was picked up by a raptor and was dropped from the air. The unfortunate event led to a better life for the unfortunate/fortunate pooch. This is a great example that we can't always see that good may come from our unfortunate circumstances after all.

This picture is from Reuters. In a  Buffalo New York cemetery (where rock icon Rick James is buried), a goose nesting in an urn is seen being guarded by a deer. Geese mate for life, and the male goose usually does the job of guarding the female as she sits on the eggs. This goose has lost her mate and the deer has noticed and taken over.

 This is an excellent link to a time lapse video of a mother  robin tending to her nest of babies If you watch till the end ( about three minutes) That is the best part in my opinion!!
